He Covers Me

He covers thee with His feathers
and under His wings thou shalt trust.
Psalm 91:4

to cover - fence in, cover over,
protect, defend, hedge in

These lovely umbrellas
scattered over a hillside reminded me
of a song I heard many years ago
about God's faithfulness and protection:

He covers me,
He covers me,
He spreads His wings
and He covers me.....

Ladies and gentlemen,
we are covered!

... under the shadow of the Almighty... (Psalm 91:1)

New Every Morning

His mercies
(kindness, beauty, favor, goodness)
are new
(fresh, rebuilt, repaired, renewed)
every morning.
(break of day)
Lamentations 3:22,23

every morning
we may have to
rethink
rebuild
renew
our faith
belief
trust
 in
His mercies
depending
on what may have been
trampled
lied about
shaken
the day before

Fear Not

Be anxious for nothing,
(no, not one, not at all, not even one)
but in everything
with prayer and supplication,
with thanksgiving,
make your requests known to God.
(Philippians 4:6)

Entertaining Angels - Missed Opportunity

One of our local "bell ringers" on break
in the cold and drizzle.  Seems like she had not
been invited into the the hosting store
to partake of their warmth and hospitality.

No Other NAME

There simply is no other Name.
There simply is no one else to turn to.
There simply and profoundly is
JESUS.

Opportunities

These beauties have lived for many months
in my neighbor's yard along with ducks and geese and goats.
Last Friday as I drove by, I noticed how sweet they looked
as a couple and thought about taking a picture.
I was in a hurry and argued with myself (Holy Spirit)
about waiting until my return trip - when I would have more time.
But the thought lingered and although I had driven
quite a distance, I decided to retrace my steps
and take the photo. (which I did)
Upon returning home after completing my errands,
the birds were gone and haven't been seen since.

My point,
of course,
is that none of us actually know the future,
the next hour or minute.
To have no regrets over lost or disregarded opportunities
we must pay attention to the nudgings
of the Holy Spirit,
be obedient to the still small voice
and be so grateful and thankful
for all our Heavenly Father has available to us today.

Something New

Although autumn is in the air,
there is the sense of something new
being carried aloft on the cool damp breezes.
All is not the same.
There is an unmistakable stirring.

Old things are passing away
Behold
All things are becoming new

II Corinthians 5:17
